The BBC program, directed by Richard Macer, reveals a fascinating insight into the highly secretive fashion magazine.
Tonight’s episode followed British editor-in-chief Alexandra Schulman as she collated 100 years of history for the much-anticipated special edition.
Kim Kardashian was one of the celebrities involved in the celebrations.
Richard explained that when he started filming the documentary, Alexandra’s opinion of Kim was: “She said she didn’t think she was particularly interesting.”
Fast forward a few months and Alexandra had invited Kim to speak at a Conde Nast 100 years dinner.
The editor-in-chief was tasked with the complex puzzle of seating arrangements.
Alexandra chose to sit Kim at the same table as former Prime Minister David Cameron’s wife, Samantha.
She conceded to doing it for entertainment’s sake, among other reasons.
Alexandra explained: “It would be interesting. More to the point that Samantha would be with the person that’s the head of the whole thing which would be appropriate for the wife of the Prime Minister.”
The documentary delved rather deeply into Alexandra’s personal life as it revealed the underlying passion behind her life’s work for Vogue.
She said: “"It must be so brutal for people who rely on their looks, they fade. I’ve never defined myself by how I look.”
Her comments baffled viewers who shared their confusion online.
